NAMI Putnam consists of families and friends of people with mental disorders in Putnam county. We are dedicated to the eradication of the stigma of mental illnesses. We strive to improve the quality of life of all whose lives are affected by these disorders. We do this by changing public attitudes through encouraging a climate of respect and dignity for individuals with mental disorders. We also provide mutual support by advocating for legislation and services to support our goals. Our goal is to educate families and the public to put a face of dignity and recovery on a stigmatized population.
